What does this mean?

We saw that Satan is very cunning, he takes the body of a serpent and speaks to the woman. First he begins to twist Gods words: "You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?" Upon the woman correctly answers: "We may eat of the fruits of the trees of the garden; but God 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch is, lest you die'."
Man is not satisfied with richness, he wants EVERYTHING, no exceptions !
The serpent begins to say half of the truth: "You will not die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil".
NO, the truth is: man will not die immediately after she eat from the fruit, but after a while. AND man will NOT be like God, with all Gods power, man will be confronted with his conscience, knowing good and evil. That shall destroy the human's enjoyment of life, already their first son would be killed by the other son out of jealousy. AND man would nolonger enjoy the company of God and enjoy eternal life, because he WILL DIE. That is NOT what the serpent (SATAN, the devil) tells, he tells half a truth!!!

And the woman is seduced, she listens to the words of the serpent. And what does the man do? He is NOT seduced, he does not call to account his wife. He knows that he is not allowed to eat from the fruit of that tree in the midst of the garden. She offers him the fruit, and he does not ask any questions. He is not seduced! Therefore sin has enteredinto the world by man, not by woman, for that reason male has a sinful nature. (Romans 5:12 Therefore, as sin entered the world by one man, and by sin death, so also the dead has continued to all man, since all have sinned).

The woman is seduced, therefore she has not a sinful nature, and the virgin Marie could give birth to a male, conceived by the Holy Spirit, without sin. That is the secret that the Lord Jesus is born without sin, since she was not fertilize by a sinful male, but by God Himself (the Holy Spirit) (Romans 5:18-19).

And pay attention, from the moment they ate from the fruit, directly they become aware of good and evil. Formerly they could walk with God in the garden, and enjoy together of Gods creation. Now, suddenly they become afraid of God, they now realize that God is Almighty and they are only human beings, they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons, and hid themselves from the presence of God. They are terrified to show themselves in the presence of God.

And what does the man do? He is cunning, he puts the guilt with God: "The woman whom You gave to be with me." He blames God that He gave to him a wrong wife. While he himself had accepted (without seduction) the fruit and he had eaten.
And he continues: "She gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate". Obviously the woman had first told that the fruit was from the forbidden tree, and despite he ate. The man tries to put the fault with his wife, while he had a free choice: to eat or not to eat!!! Therefore the male is primary responsible, through him sin has come into the world. With him is the sinful nature, and the sinful nature is propagated by male.

Est-ce malhonnête de la part de Dieu que Dieu punisse les gens pour leurs péchés ?

No, every person, is able to say over and over again NO to sin. God does not punish man for his/her sinful nature. For through Jesus Christ the punishment can be lifted. God offers a total and complete solution, it is up to man to accept Gods grace. Not only is the punishment upon sin (eternal; life in the lake of fire, pre-designated for Satan and his followers) lifted, but also man receives again eternal life in Heaven. Also he/she may rejoice again to stay in the presence of God. Now first in a sinful body, through the Mediator the Lord Jesus Christ, he/she gets access to God the Father. And after death, after the Coming of Christ, man who recognizes that he/she is a sinner and is separated from God and has accepted Jesus Christ as his/her Saviour, receives a new imperishable body, without a sinful nature, to enter Heaven and to be able to come to and be in the presence of God. What a grace and what a Love of God.
But man, just like in the garden, must choose to listen to God and not eat from that one tree. And no give way to sin. Now listening again to God, means accepting that the only way (door John 10:9) to God is by accepting that Jesus Christ is the One Who died for your sins at the Cross of Golgotha.

Does man NOT listen to God, then like in the garden, the consequences are for the person him- herself and must accept the punishment for sin (the second death: the lake of fire).

It is or choosing for God, or choosing against God, another choice there is not !!!
It is up to yourself. What will you do, do you turn away from God, denying His existence and renounce His Creation and nature and believing in the evolution theory? Or do you recognize that you do evil things and do recognize Gods existence and do accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour???

John 10:9

I (Jesus) am the way

Genèse 1:1-2:7 Début de la création

Genèse 2 : Création de l'homme

Verses 1-6 On the seventh day God rested. God was tired of the creative work? That we can put difficultly. We know that God is eternal. His work, or rather Their work, the work of God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit is eternal and it happened in the past and takes forever. But after this six days of creation was the new life on the savage and empty earth completed. The seventh day was a Sabbath day, a day of rest.

Verse 7 On the sixth day God had created the man Adam and blown His life-breath into the nose of man. Herewith distinguishes man from the other creations. The man became a living being, a trinity of body, soul and spirit with intellect to make decisions and choices.

Verse 8 God created a Garden of Eden, in the East. Where this place once was, is a lot of speculation. In the East may indicate to the East of the Euphrates River. But it is speculation, because by the fall of Adam, Adam and Eve were drove out of paradise, the garden of Eden, and the access to Eden was guarded by the cherubim (3:23-24).

Verse 9 God had created the living animals, such as birds. How much of each that the Bible does not tell. At the flood God sent of all animals one male and one female, except of the clean animals which were 7 of each pair. If that means that God created each one pair, which reproduces, the Bible does not inform. But the famous Chicken and Egg, is resolved: the Chicken was first and then the Egg.
In the garden were numerous different fruit trees, as well as a tree of life (eternal life) and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve were allowed to eat of all trees, a wealth and abundance. However God wished His recognition and obedience to Him that everything was created by Him. He was their Lord and therefore He forbade them to eat of the tree of good and evil. Equally now, man has the choice to recognize God the Creator, voluntary obey to God's commandments and the free choice to choose for God or for satan. Each choice has a consequence connected (Heaven or Lake of Fire).

Verses 10-14 In Eden sprang a river to the garden to moisten it. Also on the New Earth there will be a river of the water of life (Revelation 22:1-2), then the Fall will be recovered.
The rivers Pishon and Gihon we do not know. Also where Havilah was, this country we do not know. Also Cush (verse 13) is unknown. Because these rivers and countries originated in the garden of Eden and we know the current location Tigris and Euphrates, Gihon may refer to the Nile, because the promised land to Abraham extending from the Nile to the Euphrates.

Verses 15-17 God gives man complete freedom with only 1 commandment. The man should rule over the whole earth, including trees, crops and animals. What a responsibility! However from 1 tree they were not allowed to eat. Why should they, they had a rich abundance. It was a test for the recognition of God's creation and obedience to God. Yet if they eat of this fruit tree, then God warned them that they would surely die. God did not say that they would die immediately, even though immediately after eating of the fruit they were separated from God, spiritually immediately died because the spirit (the Holy Spirit) was removed. The physical death followed later.

Verse 18 How long Adam lived alone, the Bible does not tell. Adam may have seen the animals and birds reproducing and multiplying. Possible therefore he felt lonely. God saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone and created a help.
Being bachelor is no good, unless God calls the man or woman to do so, AND preserve him or her from sexual desires. Celibacy is a deception of satan. Many people think that celibacy (remaining unmarried) leads to benefits and refrain from marriage. The Catholic Church is with her celibacy for priests a wrong example. God has given the marriage of oneman and one woman. God knows the loneliness and HE has created the marriage. That celibacy is a deception of satan, is expressed in homosexuality (known of the Catholic priests), pedophilia, rape, pornography, etc. God has set up the marriage between one man and one woman to multiply, to have children. If everyone would remain single, satan's plan succeeds and not God's plan to multiple and the human breed is extinguished. That is what satan wishes.

Verses 19-20 God formed out of the ground every beast of the field and every bird of the air. How, no idea. But a theory of evolution is impossible, from a single substance cannot multiple different creatures. That substance has not the knowledge to create such complex structures. For the design of an airplane there are necessary several engineers. A single engineer is not capable of the design. For the creation of fish, animals, birds and man is a very intelligent being necessary, namely God.
It is God Himself, Who lead the animals and birds to Adam. Piece by piece, so that Adam could award a name. That may mean that this took a long time and Adam was a considerable amount of time alone. Assuming that Adam could not speak with them, then the loneliness of Adam is understandable.

Verses 21-22 God went to create a help for Adam. God had formed everything from ground (male and female), but now the helper was formed from the man himself. An essential distinction! The woman was formed from the man. God took a rib from the man, a painful operation? For which a deep sleep was needed. How Adam knew that the woman was formed from this rib, the Bible does not tell. Possible God has told it to Adam, or Adam had previously counted his ribs and missed a rib and now found the place was shut with meat. This makes man and woman ONE. The woman is a part of the man. But first was God and then Adam, who owed obedience to God. First was Adam and then Eve, who then in her turn owed obedience to Adam, she was given by God to Adam as a helper. Watch the one to one relationship. One man with one woman, obviously not a man with multiple women. God was also possible to create several women to Adam but God knows that only the one to one relationship works best. The effects that a man has several wives, is evident in the life of Jacob, King David and King Solomon. It has led to the demise of both kings. David committed adultery and was heavily persecuted. After the death of Solomon, his Kingdom was split up.

Verse 23 God is the Trinity. The Father, the Son and Holy Spirit are One. The man and the woman are an image of this Unity. The Trinity are one in Their thinking, yet three Persons. Husband and wife must be one in thinking. It follows out of the following verse.

Verse 24 Many think too lightly about marriage. However, the Bible is very clear in this verse. But one reads very lightly over this verse and the church hardly gives explanation what this verse means. From the foregoing, the unity of man and woman is clear. To step into marriage, the independence of BOTH, man and woman, are needed. This verse says that both leave their father and their mother which means a completely releasing of the parents:

See also The choice of your future partner.
When all of these conditions are met and there is a spiritual unity, so only then follows the marriage. And then is the first sexual intercourse (cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh). And NOT before, not before marriage. Carefully consider what the Apostle Paul says in 1 Cor. 6:16:
Do you not know that he who joins himself to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two shall become one flesh".
In short, this means that when a man and a woman have sexual intercourse, STARING FROM that moment they are MAN AND WIFE!

Verse 25 Adam and Eve were naked, without a single shame. Only by the Fall, the sex lust came into the world, and the sexual desire and the shame to to see each other naked.

Genèse 3 : La Chute

Verse 1 The serpent was the most subtle animal of all animals. If this was the reason why satan sought out this animal, to seduce Eve, the woman, no idea. Who is satan (Lucifer)? According to Ezekiel 28:5-9 a cherub (angel) who wished to be equal to God. Isaiah 14:9-15 the Day Star, son of Dawn, which would establish his throne above the stars of God, are equal to the Most High. He was the one, who song praises constantly to God, but rebelled against God and one third of the angels followed him. These angels are now the fallen angels. Satan (other name is devil) wished to be equal or more than its Creator God. After his fall, satan is cast out of Heaven, but in Job 2 we read that he still has access to Heaven and there are accusing people. His current goal is the destruction of God's creation in particular man.
Satan needs a (animal or human) body to be able to make himself visible to people. By nature, man is not able to see angels, unless God allows it. Here the body of the serpent is chosen by satan to reveal himself to the woman Eve. In images we often see a serpent in a tree because we think of the serpent after verse 14, where God cursed and from then on had to go on the abdomen. One might ask, does this mean that previously the serpent did not go on the abdomen and was able to walk (think of a satyr)? Found the conversation place walking between Eve and satan in the garden of Eden? The Bible does not inform, see my final conclusion at the end of this chapter.
Not only the serpent is subtle, satan is more subtle. He asks a question to Eve: you may not eat of any tree in the garden? It is an open door. Both knew very well that man was allowed to eat of all trees, except 1. Adam and Eve ate daily of all the trees, except that one. But it is a way to start a conversation and send in a certain direction. How often does not the infidel and unbeliever fall into the same trap?

Verses 2-3 The woman gives a 100% correct answer. Says exactly what God told her. We see the same temptations repeated three times with Jesus. However, with a big difference. The abdomen of Eva was saturated of all fruits. The abdomen of Jesus was empty, after 40 days and nights without food he was with hunger. Satan quotes the Bible to Jesus also correct, but Jesus does not fall in the pit, because the explanation is different. How often are infidels and believers not deceived by satan (and false Bible scholars and scientists) by their lack of knowledge and they depend on explanations by others?
.Be 100% pure in your answer, because if you but differ a bit, you give an opening to satan, upon which he will immediately supplant.

Verse 4 Satan answers with a hard lie: you surely will not die. A 100% lie. Satan knew very well that the man would die. An immediate separation between man and God. An immediate removal of the spirit (Holy Spirit) of man with which he could communicate with God. However, what satan did not know that God in His Omniscience, already had a rescue plan. Satan thought that man would die physically, that was his goal, the destruction what God had created perfectly!

Verse 5 Here comes the temptation and the sequel of the lie: you will be like God. That was what satan wanted, he wanted to be God.
Yes, man would be like God, knowing the difference between right and wrong. Need to make conscious choices daily to do things right and omit evil. In Paradise man had an easy life by only not eating from the tree of good and of evil. Now man is daily exposed to evil, indigence, disease and misery. And must constantly choose and put up resistance against evil.
No, man became not equal to God. God is God, the only One. Never will a man or an angel be equal to its Creator God. Only God is the Almighty. It is pride to think to become equal to God.

Verse 6 Why satan chose the woman and not the man, the Bible does not mentioned. Possible because the woman was appointed as helper of the man Adam and she was already dissatisfied with her position?
The woman goes in the wrong. God had clearly stated that they would die after eating the forbidden fruit. Now attaches more value to the word of an animal than to the word of God. Consider carefully that Adam and Eve were appointed to rule over trees, plants, animals and birds. They were ABOVE all this, they were lord and master over them. Eva leaves this position and now listens to someone over who she has power. Already Eve had to be alerted, because here is an exceptional animal, an animal that talks to her. Earlier is not stated that Adam and Eve could talk with the animals. Now comes an animal (serpent) to her, which talks to her, an exceptional situation!
In exceptional situations God uses an animal to talk to the man, as the donkey who speaks with the disobedient prophet Balaam. Let a believer never be misleaded as if God ever uses an animal to speak to a believer. To the believer is given the Holy Spirit. Prophecy spoken by a believer, have to 100% in accordance with the Bible. And confirmed by the Holy Spirit and all the prophecies of this prophet must be fulfilled 100%. Not even partly, because then it is already a false prophecy! Man must examine the Bible himself and not trust the explanation of others (Sermoner, prophet, internet, comments). One is solely responsible!
The woman gives an opening to this unknown speaking animal. They arrived walking at the tree of good and of evil? She stands for this tree and her desires are starting to come. She wishes to have knowledge. It is not enough for her to have been created in the image of God, she wants to be equal to God. It is sad with man, no more faith in her God, her creator. She has more confidence in an unknown being, then in her God with Whom she spoke daily. The source of all evil is disbelief and no trust in God.
How often we wish to have more knowledge than is good for man or her. Among other things, experimenting with drugs, because drug is addicting. Devouring projects of billions of dolares to discover life on other planets, while the universe is billions of light years in size. One wishes to deny God's existence and to explain the emergence of life itself. Ridiculous a single cell cannot produce a complex talking man. No doctor or specialist has knowledge of the complete human body. For each specific body part is a separate specialist, because man is too complex.
Eva goes to Adam, or was Adam looking for Eve? Here we see already directly the danger if the male/female unit is disconnected. Was Adam alone at work in the field? Eva already no longer fulfilled her role as helper of her husband? Alone she became the victim of temptation.
She gave the forbidden fruit to her husband and he ate. Yes, he ate. He was NOT tempted. He had a CONSCIOUS choice: to eat or not, to choose to unit with his wife or remain one with God, remain obedient to his Creator God. But he made a conscious choice, he chose WRONG against God and for his wife. Performed a role that he could communicate with his wife 24 hours a day and he no longer wished to be alone? Because God only visited him (once) per day and talked with him? We do not know the motives of Adam. But let it be a lesson for man. By this CONSCIOUS choice of man, THROUGH THE MAN the sin came into the world. By the seed of man, the sin is continued in his children. This is why the virgin Mary (without intercourse with a man) was fertilized by the Holy Spirit (male seed without sin) and Jesus was born without sin. The woman was misled, the man not.

Verse 7 Their eyes were opened, they immediately knew the difference between right and wrong. They were aware of their nudity. And now the first people advanced to private action. They try to hide their nakedness. How? By an act of OWN power. They hack leaves. Leaves that after the hack die and wither and takes away their covering. So a constantly hacking is in order to continue to cover their nakedness. Man is UNABLE to provide for a everlasting solution of the separation between God and man. The SOLUTION takes place in first instance in verse 21 and the final solution through the death and resurrection of God's son Jesus Christ.
Man did not become equal to God. In his stupidity he makes a covering of leaves that wither. Man did not obtained the Omniscient knowledge of God!

Genesis 3Verse 8 God knew the time when Adam and Eve had eaten of the fruit. But God did not react immediately, did not visit and punish them immediately. He waited until the evening. Also now God waits to punish man for his or her sin. A person has a short or long life on earth, the time to learn about God, to buy a Bible, get to know God, recognizing to be a sinner and the only way to salvation and reconciliation with God through the son Jesus Christ. God lets Himself be known by nature. The universe and life is too complex to deny the existence of God. With the simplicity with which Genesis 1 to 3 is written, each healthy man can recognize God as creator and that one is sinful and cannot salve himself. Death is THE EVIDENCE of the history of creation and sin. Without creation, also no sin. Denying the creation, is denying to be sinful!
Satan promised to be equal to God, contrary, man obtained fear and hide himself for its Maker God. Only the sound of God hunts their fear. Once they walked with God in the garden and communicated with Him. Now fear. Today, man does not want to do anything with God. Fear of God for what God will do to him or her. A foolish denial, a hide for reality.
The man lived in a luxury of (fruit) trees from which he could eat plentifully without toiling labour. Now man used the same trees (and leaves) to hide. What a decline!

Verse 9 God calls man: Where are you? As if God did not know what had happened and knew where they were. But God gives Adam and Eve, man and woman, every opportunity to come to God. He opens the door for each of them. Thus the door of God is open to every man. Every man, however sinful, can come to God. But God asks that man COME TO HIM! It is an action of man!

Verse 10 The man goes to God and replies, I was frightened on hearing your sound in the garden. The man is scared for his Maker with Who he earlier (days, months, maybe even years) had spoken freely and walked. The Bible does not tell how long it took before satan was ready with his plan of seduction. Do you, as man, have the courage to recognize to be a sinner and ask for God's help. To be able to go to Him?

Verse 11 God asks a question, although He knows the answer, it is up to man to give account to his Maker. The first question is: Who told you that you were naked?? The second question is: Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?

Verse 12 See how arrogant and cowardly the man is and adds to his debt: God has waited until the evening, Adam was given the time to formulate his answer and to recognize debt. So, man has his life long to think about his or her life and to come to knowledge of sin.
The man pushes the debt to God. But God had CLEARLY warned Adam in advance, when you do eat of that fruit, then you die. It was the full free choice to choose between God and his wife. The man could have chosen for God and obedience to Him and NOT to eat of the fruit. Not listening to his wife and not eating the fruit. God felt absolutely nothing to blame. God had seen the loneliness of Adam and met the desire of Adam for a companion.
His waiver of guilt is twofold: To God Who has given him a wife, and to his wife: his wife had given him the fruit. Yes, one can argue but how could Adam know that it was the forbidden fruit? I think we could assume that this fruit was deviant in shape from all other fruits and so clearly recognizable. Apples, oranges, pineapple, pears, etc. have all their own smell and shape after all! So Adam made quite clearly a conscious choice.

Verse 13 Please note! God enters not in discussion with Adam. God is patient and directs Himself to the woman, to whose address the accusation is made. The woman points to the serpent and confesses partly fault, I was tempted. In my rashness and deception I let myself go and then I ate. But let us not forget the situation. OK the serpent was a creature of God, but it was not normal that a serpent spoke. She stood ABOVE the serpent as ruler, and should have been warned. OK Eve had no discernment of good and evil. However God had given humans the ability to choose.

Verse 14 God is now concentrating firstly to the serpent, knowing that behind all this is satan. Now the serpent is removed from the capability to walking (on 2 or 4 feet) and henceforth will be creeping (on the abdomen). The question arises why? An animal had the choice to say no that satan made use of him? I think so, stated is that the serpent was the most subtle among the animals. That indicates intelligence!

Verse 15 God judges and makes a promise. Enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed. The seed of the woman are all the children who are born from her, the whole of humanity. Your seed: the fallen angels but also anyone who choose against God. Anyone who does NOT want to recognize to be a sinner, every one who denies the existence of God the creator, his Creator. This will bruise your head: from the seed of Eva will be born the Son of God, Jesus Christ. You shall bruise his heel: Jesus Christ is betrayed by Judas, after satan had entered in Judas. Jesus died on the cross. HOWEVER Christ has crushed the head (of the serpent) and is risen from the dead and ascended to Heaven, where now He sits at the right hand of God.

Verse 16 The seducer and causer is punished. However the people go not free, they have made voluntary choices. Now God focuses on the woman. She is seduced and her punishment will be:

  1. With pain she will bear children.
  2. Her desire will be for her husband.
  3. The man will rule over her.

The woman who does not submit to this punishment, as faithful one can expect little blessing in her life and marriage. It is, after all, a submission to God's judgment. The man considers, however, that Jesus Christ is his head and in Peter is stated that the man must love his wife.

Verses 17-18 Now God focuses on the man, the sinner, who had a complete free choice. God reproaches him on the first place that he has listened to his wife. Let this be a lesson. Later in the administration of justice by God (after death) man will be held responsible to whom he or she has listened. No excuse but that or that person has explained me, has deceived or seduced me. The man bears his or her own responsibility. Certainly in our time, one has different sources to investigate and the Holy Spirit to ask what the truth is!
The whole creation is involved in the curse, the perfect is past. The death enters into force: sickness and deformity enters into the world. Thorns, thistles, weeds, mosquitoes, pests enter the world. Without toil, earth delivers no more food. Famine and lack of rain occur. All this is not the fault of God. God had warned: If you eat of the fruit than die. Good, but why did God than not directly put physically an end to the life of Adam and Eve? But we do not have omniscient knowledge. Adam and Eve, each man gets the chance of eternal life in Heaven during his life on earth.

Verse 19 Under toiling of sowing, ploughing and harvesting, man will eat in the future his food. The man is out of the dust of the earth, to dust will return the same man. Either one is buried in the ground, it perishes to dust. Either through cremation, which is prohibited. Cremation is burning with fire and therefore prohibited. Burning with fire is a punishment from God: fire from heaven on Egypt (Exod. 9:23), Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:21), Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10:2), the rebellion of Korah (Num. 16:35), the restive Israelites (Numbers 11:1), and on other wicked (Hosea 8:14; Jeremiah 17:27; Amos 7:4).

Verse 20 The man progresses to call his wife by the name of Eva.

Genesis 3Verse 21 Here many read superficial over this text, but it is one of the two most important events in the Bible. The basis for the second.
In verse 7 the people had taken leaves to cover their nakedness, a private human power! Man thinks himself to be able to release, but with solution which soon decays.
Clear in this verse is that God does not accept this solution. The leaves wither and do not cover any more. God Himself kills an animal, kills an innocent animal in the man's place. Similarly, Jesus was nailed innocently at the cross and slaughtered for the sins of man. The animal had no debt, Jesus had no debt. The fault of the man was here transferred to the animal, the debt is transferred from the believer on Jesus at the cross. Adam and Eve had to wear the skin of the animal the rest of their lives. Probably for an each one, one animal was slaughtered because the Bible talks about garments of skins. The skin of an animal is going to last a lifetime, not a temporary covering of leaves that wither. Once Jesus brought the sacrifice which applies for life.
The rest of their lives, Adam and Eve will be aware of their wrong choice, from their sin through the clothing of the innocent slaughtered animal. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins, Hebrews 9:22, is fulfilled here.
The human act of covering by leaves is undone. Poor man who thinks he can perform his redemption by own work. His or her fate by rejecting God's solution is an eternal separation from God after death.

Verse 22 The man has become like one of us (the Trinity: God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit). But not equal to God, just as the tree promised only the knowledge of good and evil. Man dies, God is eternal, without beginning, without end. Man has a beginning.
God removes the man from the garden of Eden so that it becomes impossible to eat from the tree of life. This fruit would have it made impossible that man would die physically and thereby live eternal in sin. Because man has not eaten of this fruit, DOES NOT MEAN that a human being has no eternal life. Every human being has eternal life AFTER DEATH, or separated from God, or with God. Where? That depends completely on the choice that man makes during life on earth. The free choice of Adam and Eve continues on each individual person, and is his or her OWN responsibility!

Verses 23-24 Man was removed from the garden of Eden and to monitor cherubs (angels) were posed so that no man has anymore access.

Conclusion finale de Genèse 1, 2 et 3

The French theologian and reformer John Calvin says in his commentary on the book of Genesis that Moses has written in a language understandable by his own people. That is not so surprising. A teacher at the primary school explains things different than a teacher at high school. A technician will use simple language, without technical terms at a meeting of laymen. And on the meeting of technicians he will use jargon and technical terms.
The question is how Moses received his information that we do not know. It can be from many years of tradition from Adam. Moses was formed at the Court of Pharaoh and therefore skilled in scripture. At that time, oral surrender was very meticulous through accurate repetitions (like the scribes in the days of Jesus). On the other hand, it is just as possible that Moses (40 days on the mountain) has learned the creation and fall of man directly out of the mouth of God.
For man, the creation in details and time (number of hours, days, months, or what time plane) is not important. Genesis 1-3 gives the creation by God and the conscious choice of man against God. God created everything perfect, man chose wrong and became a sinner. It tells how the misery, disease and toiling came into the world. Most likely it will take millions of page if the creation was described in details. It is nonsensical information to tell how long Adam has lived alone, how long in paradise before the temptation by the serpent. The important information is there and that satan is the enemy of God. And without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
Currently there are trillions of dollars wasted on the search for life in space. One wants to deny the existence of God and prove that there are opportunities elsewhere in our solar system for life. Radio telescopes that scan the universe, billions of light years in size, searching for life on another planet. Money could be better spent to the chaos on earth, the environmental pollution (bad government by man, despite so appointed by God as ruler) and famines.
In addition, why search for life elsewhere, God prevents the proof of this. Satanists worship satan and demons, so there is other life. There are fallen angels and angels of God. We read in Revelation about other life forms (including horses with stings).
Genesis, the Old Testament, the New Testament and Revelation are given by God to man, BECAUSE God DESIRES that man knows his origin and his future. Man is a sinner, and without a conscious choice before God during this life, after the death follows an eternal separation of God and a forever torment. The choice is up to man, there is plenty informative, false and true available in the bookstores and on the internet. The Bible and commentaries are available for free on the internet. Man spends hundreds of dollars to buy a mobile and subscription fee. A mobile lasts 2-3 years, a subscription takes one month. Yet the man is not willing to buy a Bible and commentaries, which cost much less but represents a value of eternity. See the man!
Let man not be cocky and unwise. In Genesis is given what man can understand with his knowledge. More was and is not necessary, unless one wishes to deny God and Sin, consciously.

Genèse 4 : Caïn et Abel

Verse 1 Adam has intercourse with his wife Eve, and she bore Cain. This chapter shows that Eva previously had intercourse with her husband, because from verse 14 it appears that several people already lived on earth and from verse 17 it appears that Cain was married, so Eve had given birth to sisters. In this verse it is especially about the lineage of Cain.

Verses 2-5 How much later the brother Abel was born is irrelevant. Abel became a shepherd and Cain was a farmer. Both offered an offering to the Lord God. Undoubtedly in 2:21 Adam understood the meaning of the sacrifice of the innocent animal and that without sin bloodshed there is no forgiveness of sin. Adam must have explained this to his children. Likewise, we as Christian parents are obligated to explain sin and the meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to our children.
Cain brings a sacrifice of OWN work! The fruit of the earth. From what his parents had told him that God had rejected the leaves as the covering of their nakedness, their own works, Cain knew in advance that this was not pleasing God. It was stubbornness and quirkiness of Cain to think that his sacrifice would be pleasing to God. This is also the case with modern man, who thinks he can please God with their own works. God has clearly stated that without bloodshed, the sacrifice through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, NO forgiveness can take place. If this is rejected, then, just like Cain, one will have to bear the consequences.
Abel, on the other hand, could be said, also brought a sacrifice of his own works: the firstlings of his sheep. But here the teaching continued from 2:21: the slaughter of an innocent animal. The acknowledgment that oneself is not capable of salvation and reconciliation with God. Something which was harshly denied by Cain. The result was that Abel's sacrifice was accepted by God, and logically the sacrifice of Cain was rejected by God. Therefore, involving Cain's countenance fell and being very angry with God was completely unjustified.

Verses 6-7 The Lord God addresses Cain about his behaviour: Is your anger and countenance fell correct? Have your parents not taught you about correct sacrifice, not told you how I sacrificed an innocent animal as atonement for their sin and rejected their foliage? Have you acted well by bringing a fruit of the earth? But if you have acted wrongly, are you not guilty yourself that I reject your offer? You know VERY GOOD why I reject your sacrifice, there sin lies at the door! You have absolutely no reason to be angry.
Let this be a lesson for man. The Bible teaches from Genesis to Revelation how God thinks about sin. That God does NOT tolerate sin. That the only forgiveness of sin is through faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour. Rejection means punishment: The Jews who were exiled to Babylon, out of Israel, the Gentiles who will experience the consequences in the Great Tribulation. And everyone who perseveres in the rejection of God's solution: the punishment forever in the Lake of Fire. God is Love, revealed in the solution through Jesus Christ. God is a consuming fire for the one who rejects God's solution! God does not tolerate sin!

Verse 8 Cain has been warned by God and God has clearly stated to him WHY He rejected the sacrifice of Cain. How persevering is Cain: he does not come to repentance. The reason is clearly explained to him! Cain perseveres and proceeds to a much greater sin, cold-blooded and with PREMEDITATION. He invites his brother Abel to go into the field and kills him. Murder with premeditation.
When a person consciously sins and persists, then one goes from bad to worse. Criminals, who do not come to repentance in prison, fall into greater crime. Robbery with a weapon leads to murder. Rejecting what the Bible teaches, leads to declaring 'but that is not so written in the Bible', leads to adultery, sex before marriage, gay marriages, pedophilia, theft, murder to name just a few.

Verses 9-10 After the murder of his brother, God visits Cain again and asks him: Where is your brother? Adam would undoubtedly have told his children about his fall. How he kept himself innocent and rejected guilt. Cain had not learnt the lesson: keeping himself innocent, he replies: I do not know. What a lie.
The voice of your brother's blood is crying to me from the ground. No idea how to explain this. The creation was cursed with Adam's sin. Is it possible that the creation cried to God now that another serious sin, namely premeditated murder, had been committed?

Verses 11-12 Now Cain is cursed. Adam was punished by having to toil in order to eat the fruits of the earth. How foolish Cain was that he thought he would remain unpunished. How foolish is the man who thinks that God does not exist, that God does not see his or her actions, that he can do wrong with impunity and reject the Bible.
In the first instance, a lawyer can deny the debt of his client. But if the evidence is provided clearly, he brings forward the circumstances of the criminal. Judges can judge unjustly. However, every man will appear before the Judge God after death. Then the judgment will fall and every man, unbelieving and believing, will have to give account to God or Jesus Christ about his or her actions on earth.
The punishment that Cain receives is that despite the toil of working the earth, the earth does not give the full yield. The harvest grows up with thistles and weeds. It is possible that Adam and his children lived in tents and had a permanent home. Cain is sentenced to a wanderer. On the run for his brothers and sisters. But possibly also for his parents.

Verses 13-14 Cain comes to understand and realizes that one would like to kill him. But look at his attitude, no repentance, only self-pity. An accusation to the address of God: You drive me this day away from the ground, I shall be a wanderer and a refugee. How is man, how is the criminal: To confess guilt and accept the punishment, or removing the blame to the circumstances and reject the punishment? Does man accept that one is a sinner, and when one rejects God's commandments and one deserves punishment?

Verse 15 God nevertheless knows grace. God clearly states that murder is a serious crime, whoever does NOT respect God and HIS punishment, God will avenge sevenfold. Whoever kills Cain, does not respect God's punishment and will experience God's vengeance. How God has made this known to parents, brothers and sisters, the Bible does not inform. Neither what sign God gives to Cain.
Exodus 20:5 states that God visits the sin of man who hates God until the third and fourth generation. So God does not go further than to visit the fourth generation. For that reason, I consider it unlikely that the sign of Cain would be the skin colour of a negro.

Verse 16 Cain leaves the country where his parents and family lived. The word Nod means wandering.

Verse 17 Cain was probably married before he committed the murder. It is unlikely that a sister would marry him after he had committed the murder and God had condemned him to a wanderer. Whether he already had children is not important, but now follows a special lineage born out of this union.
He builds a city for himself, does not accept God's judgment that he would be a wanderer. Did he build a city with a fortress wall, for fear of being killed? Who built this city. With the help of brothers or sisters, very unlikely that they helped the murderer of their brother Abel. So he himself had a numerous family?

Verses 18-19 Man is hard-hearted and perseveres in sin. Total no respect for God. In 2:24 God had clearly given His command: one man will unir to his (one) wife. A 1 to 1 relationship between man and woman. NOT a man with several women (nor a women with several men), neither a man with a man nor a woman with a woman. Lamech commits a gross sin, rejects God's command and takes himself TWO women.

Verses 20-22 speak for themselves.

Verses 23-24 How haughty Lamech is. He kills somebody, despite the example of the punishment by God on Cain and increases himself that he would be avenged 77 times if somebody would lay his hand on him. What a pride, he overtakes the place of God here, thinking he is more than God!

Verses 25-26 We can assume that Adam and Eve had frequent intercourse and had conceived many children, of which only a small overview is given in Genesis 5. Eve saw the substitute son of Adam in Set. Out of Set, Enos was born, a family that began to call upon the name of the Lord. It was guessing whether this meant that the other sons and daughters lived in sin and said goodbye to God.

Genèse 5 : Premières générations

Verses 1-2 It is clear that the complete genealogy of Adam and Eve is not given here. Cain could only marry if Adam and Eve had already begotten sisters (women). Here a limited register is given from the creation of Adam and Eve until the Flood. In which humanity is once again limited, and humanity is born from only one couple Noah and his wife.

Verses 3-32 Adam was 130 when Set was born. From 4:25 we know that this was the substitute son of Abel. So the murder of Abel took place around that time.

Adam to Seth130 years
Seth to Enosh105 years
Enosh to Kenan90 years
Kenan to Mahalalel70 years
Mahalalel to Jered65 years
Jered to Enoch162 years
Enoch to Methuselah65 years
Methuselah to Lamech187 years
Lamech to Noah182 years
Total Adam to Noah1056 years

The question is whether they are all first-born. If so, then the time from Adam to the flood is: 1056 years plus 600 years (Noah to flood) about 1650 years.

Verse 24 Enoch walked with God. His lifestyle was therefore very exceptional. A life without sin, perfect devotion and obedience to God? Because he was no longer, because God had taken him. Enoch has NOT seen death. The penalty for sin, death, was not applied to him. He was directly lifted into paradise. Adam, Eve, and all their other children have all experienced the punishment of sin, and have died all. Only Moses and Elijah are the other two, who have not experienced death and went directly into paradise. Moses and Elijah will return to the earth at the end of the Great Tribulation and will then die (Revelation 11).

Genèse 6 : Le déluge et Noé

Verses 1-2 The sons of God. Who are they? John Calvin, the French reformer, denies that they are fallen angels. Personally, indeed I think they are some fallen angels. A good substantiation can be found sons of God en zonen van god (Dutch) says among other things:
The weak point is that Matthew 22:30 says, "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." But the weakness of this argument can be circumvented with the remark that the text does not state that "angels cannot marry". Instead, the text says that angels do not marry. Secondly, Matthew 22:30 deals with the "angels in heaven". So it is not about fallen angels, who do not worry about God's created order and actively strive to thwart God's plan. The fact that God's holy angels do not marry and have no sexual relationships does not mean that the same also applies to satan and his demons.
It is plausible that angels are able to assume a human form, so that they can imitate human sexuality and possibly even reproduce. Why did angels not do this more often? It seems that God imprisoned the angels who committed this evil sin so that the other fallen angels would not do the same (as described in Jude 1:6). Early Jewish translators and apocryphal and pseudopigraphic texts unanimously believe that the "sons of God" from Genesis 6:1-4 are fallen angels. This means that the debate is far from closed, but the position that Genesis 6:1-4 relates to fallen angels and human women has a strong contextual, grammatical and historical basis (end source)
The Holy Spirit has fertilized the virgin Mary, so in my view it is possible that angels can have sexual intercourse. From the books of Rebecca Brown it is clear that satan makes women pregnant and their born children are sacrificed to satan. There are many satan churches in almost every country in the world. There children are sacrificed and many women are sexually abused. This abuse is severely violent, demonic. Through which women get pregnant by demons? That is why the sons of God point to some of the fallen demons, who are put in hell by God (prematurely) because of this act.

Verse 3 The daughters (of men) voluntarily gave themselves to these fallen angels, as also happens today in the church of satan. Here we see a clear repetition of the time of the flood. We live in the final times, again God's wrath is close. However, God has made a covenant (the rainbow) not to destroy the earth again by means of a flood. However, the Great Tribulation with the plagues of the seven seals (Revelation 6 and 8) and six trumpets (Revelation 8 and 9) will soon take place and humanity will once again experience God's anger over the wickedness of man. Homosexual marriages, pedophilia, adultery and free sex, sex with demons and satan, sex with animals, and so on, everything of before the Flood repeats itself.

Verse 4 The children born from this union are not normal, they are giants. People who have seen God's angels say that they are about 3 metres tall. So that the children born from fallen angels are giants is not surprising.
These are renown. Renown does not just mean their appearance, but also their violent (demonic) character.

Verse 5 Man has left his Creator and God. Today it is no better. Governments no longer respect God's laws, people get into prison if they do not go along with the sin of the governments (one cannot say anything against homosexuality and pedophilia). God's Word, the Bible, is negated by meaning. It is clear again that man's thoughts are only wickedness. One tries to completely deny the existence of God and give man complete freedom. But in the days of Noah man was warned through the construction of the arc and Sermoning of Noah. In Matthew 24:37-38, Jesus says that the days of Noah will repeat.

Verse 6 God repents that He made man and it grieved Him. In itself a strange thing, because God is Omniscient and has prior knowledge of what will happen. We as humans cannot understand and explain this. Man is limited in his mind and we cannot understand the Divine things. To give an explanation here is pointless.
Having said this, it is the responsibility of man to make a choice for good or for evil. So right after creation, the earth must have looked beautiful. Adam lived 930 years, firsthand and personally all his children and family could hear about how God made the earth and everything that lives. About the wrong choice he made with his consequences. Man had no excuse at all. The part of mankind who chooses God will receive eternal life in Heaven. Man cannot blame God when he or she does NOT come into Heaven, it is man's personally choice. Every believer has the free choice or to live to the honour and glory of God, to keep God's commandments and to live under the control of the Holy Spirit. Or to keep living in the world, not submitting to God's commandments with the consequence of staying behind on earth at the Rapture of Christ and making the choice in the Great Tribulation for Jesus. Or for satan, the Anti-Christ and accepting the mark 666 with the consequence of an eternal life in the lake of fire. The choice is absolutely a free choice of man, but a wrong choice of man brings sorrow to God.

Verse 7 God judges. The whole creation will be destroyed. Why not just man, there is no explanation for that. But evil choice of man has a direct consequence for creation, trees, animals, birds. Now the earth suffers from the effects of environmental pollution, man is fully responsible for that.

Verses 8-9 Although Noah lives in the midst of this wicked people (during 600 years), he continues to choose a life of obedience to God.
How was the situation with the Israelites after the exodus from Egypt? Full of rebellion against their God, complaining about no water, no meat, no belief in the power of God and not taking possession of the promised land out of fear. God's punishment: 40 years in the desert. God does not tolerate sin. To say today "God is Love, He does not punish" is deceiving yourself, the flood and the punishment in the desert are clear proof that God does not tolerate and CONTEST sin. Living in sin by unbeliever and believer has consequences. Noah lived righteously and impeccably. Likewise, the believer has to live if he or she wants to be admitted to Heaven. Matthieu 24 en Matthieu 25 are obvious!

Verse 10 Noah probably gives a good education and example to his three sons.

Verses 11-12 How bad is it with mankind: full of destruction and violence. But today, it is no different with man. The world is full of poverty, drugs, violence, murder, wars, theft, adultery, environmental pollution, people do not wish to have anything to do with God, choose yoga, choose satanism, everything against God. Man wants to be his own boss, no respect for another person at all, let alone for God. Yes, we are reviving the days of Noah.

Verse 13 God reveals to Noah what He is going to do. The man who wishes to know God, knows from the Bible what God wish and what will happen to earth. The believer is not left unknown. Daniel and Revelation is clear. The gospel speaks clear language. Man is not left in ignorance. Man is guilty, man is fully responsible for what happens on and with the earth. God told Noah that the earth is going to be destroyed. Revelation is clear: God is going to destroy the earth again with its people during the Great Tribulation. However, this time it is a definite end. No rescue of a Noah with his family. That salvation takes place through the ark: the Church of Jesus Christ. The Church of Christ will find his salvation in Heaven. Only those who are written in the Book of Life will find a new life on the New Earth.

Verses 14-16 God gives Noah a commission: build an ark of gopher wood. This is the only place in the Bible where is spoken of gopher. Which type of wood it concerns, is guessing. Hard wood, cypress wood, which is considered very light and yet durable, and is often used in shipbuilding and is often found in Asia and Persia.
The instructions from God are clear, exactly how the ark should be built with how many floors, compartments, length, width and height.
Wikipedia: It is unclear how long the cubit mentioned in the Bible and hadith books (ziraa) is, for example in the dimensions of Noah's ark. According to the Siloam inscription, the Siloam Tunnel that king Hezekiah digged to provide Jerusalem with water was 1200 cubits long. There are a number of recent measurements of this tunnel, varying between 512,5 and 533 metres. That would mean that a cubit would be between 42,6 and 44,4 centimetres. There are also scholars who suggest that the cubit used in the Bible was 49,5 or 52,5 centimetres.
300 cubits by 44 cm is 132 metres long. 50 cubits at 44 cm is 22 metres wide. 30 metres by 44 cm is 13 metres in high.
Some say that Moses entered the error with the dimensions. Yet this is unlikely. Moses was a learned man, raised at the court of Pharaoh, undoubtedly familiar with the construction of pyramids. Moreover, inspired by God. According to some, these dimensions are insufficient to accommodate all these animals, locked up (for thirteen months) in small space. The problem is that there is no knowledge of how long the cubit was as described by Moses. On the other hand, it is also not important, the information is that God had a plan for the salvation of man and creation. Noah and his family, who lived just and blameless, are saved with the animals. Noah and his family are saved on the basis of BELIEF. They believe what God is going to do. The man who accepts God's salvation plan is saved. The man who does not believe in what God is going to do, does not accept God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, he will be destroyed and does not come into Heaven.

Verse 17 God is determined, people on earth despite all the teaching and examples of Adam and Eve, they remain wicked. They want nothing to do with God, do not give God the honour that everything is created by Him, that all food comes from God. They are more likely to surrender to satan and demons. Today it is no different, everything is through the power of man, people surrender to evil, to satan and demons. Governments no longer take God into account and give man all freedom. As a result economic crises, violence, drug addiction, alcoholism and injustice, corruption. Also now God's decision is for sure whether one accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour and lives under the control of the Holy Spirit, or one chooses the worldly life with a second chance in the Great Tribulation. If one opts for the Anti-Christ and the mark then one is lost forever.

Verse 18 God does not destroy the righteous. God saved Lot and his family from Sodom. Time after time God saved his people from slavery and exile. The condition: to convert to God. God makes a covenant with Noah for salvation. Today God makes a covenant with every man who accepts His Son Jesus Christ as Saviour of his/her sin and who wishes to live under the control of the Holy Spirit. Namely a holy life.

God desires that man lives to the honour of his Creator. Worships Him alone and gives Him all honour. Since here it clearly shows that man leaves God, we see in the Pentateuch that God sets apart for Himself a nation, the Israelites. Jesus teaches from the Old Testament, because the New Testament did not exist yet. Therefore, the rules that God gave to the Israelites also apply to the Christian. To this people, He gives instructions to live in honour of Him, and to live holy.
The first commandment we saw in Genesis 2:24:
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Then in Exodus 20, God gives the ten commandments:

  1. You shall have no other gods before me.
  2. You will not worship images and saints.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labour, and do all your work.
  5. Honour your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not kill.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbour's house; you shall not covet your neighbour's wife, you will not covet what belongs to your neighbour.

The people of God (the Israelites and Christians) are set apart by God and called to live a holy life and show to the unbelievers that they are a people who lives onto the honour and glory of God. Special commandments are given here and in Leviticus.

The above is a summary of the most important holiness in the life of a Christian concerning the teaching by Jesus from the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the Christian receives more education through Jesus Himself and through the letters of the apostles, with among others Galatians 5:16-22:
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would. But if you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

Genesis 6 verses 19-20 Only through male and female reproduction can take place, therefore a pair of all animals. It is God Who chooses and determines. It is God Who determines which pair and He sends them to the ark. It is not Noah who has to catch the birds, bring the crawling animals into the ark, catching a pair of each animal. One couple will come to Noah and enter the ark themselves.
It is Jesus Christ who comes in the clouds at His Rapture to get the Church and bring the Church into Heaven. Not the believer himself, the believer is removed and brought into salvation. Free of everything before the Great Tribulation begins.

Verse 21 Noah gets the instruction about the amount of food he needs to take with him into the ark. God knows how long the stay in the ark will last, a thirteen months (7:11 and 8:14).

Verse 22 Noah is not stubborn, he trusts and fully believes God. He obeys all the commandments given by God. How is man presently, does he/she believes in Jesus Christ? And after coming to faith, living on in the world? Or obeying by living under the control of the Holy Spirit and obeying by living a holy life?

Genèse 7 : L'arche de Noé

Verse 1 On account of the fact that God found Noah righteous, only Noah is saved with his wives and his children with their wives. Only the man who accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour is found righteous by God and obtains salvation. Only then does one escape from the judgment of God.
God orders Noah to enter the ark with his family. A step in faith, because there is NOTHING to see of any rain that will cover the entire earth and destroy everything. Likewise today man sees NOTHING. Today the days of Noah are repeating, man is mocking God, breaking His commandments and thinking there is no God and God will not punishing. Until the Lord Jesus Christ comes to collect His Church, then people will notice that many people have suddenly disappeared. In spite of that fact, many will not come to faith and many will persist in their unbelief. They will accept the mark of the beast, despite all the disasters that happen on earth and their fate is the judgment of God after death.

Verses 2-3 Noah has to take 7 pairs of all clean animals and birds. A pair so that it can reproduce later itself after the Flood. Why seven? Because later these clean animals serve as a sin offering. Unclean animals cannot serve as a sin offering. He has to take one pair from the unclean animals.

Verse 4 Noah must already enter the ark and wait seven days before the rain will cover the earth. Faith and patience are demanded here. Likewise the believer, one must persist in faith during his/her life. The one who persists in a life under the direction of the Holy Spirit, receives eternal life in Heaven.
God will let it rain for forty days and nights. Man is not killed at once, the water will rise slowly, people will flee up to the mountains. They will experience that Noah has spoken the truth. Eventually the water will cover the entire earth, people will try to swim, but die from drowning and exhaustion.

Verse 5 Noah is perfectly obedient and does EVERYTHING what God has commanded him. Man must obey God:

  1. Recognize being a sinner and acknowledging not being capable to redeem himself
  2. Accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord
  3. Let loose off the worldly life and put his/her life under the control of the Holy Spirit
  4. To live to the glory of God, and keeping God's commandments and to testifying

Verse 6 How long Noah did about the construction of the ark, there is no certainty about this. Genesis 11:10 says that Shem was 100 years, 2 years after the flood. So Shem was born 98 years before the flood. Noah was 600 years when the flood came. From 6:10-13 one can conclude that the construction of the ark began 98 years before the flood, or possible less and started after the birth of the three children.
The construction must have lasted for quite some time. At that time there was no metal saw, which tools Noah had at his disposal, we do not know. Pictures of Noah's ark show an ark with planks. That is unlikely. Maybe Noah used whole tree trunks that were stitched together with garlands. In any case, an artful structure under the leadership of God.
The correct date that the flood came, is given in verse 11.

Verses 7-9 It is God Who sends the animals and birds to the ark and let them enter. Noah does not have to do anything for this, only to enter the ark with his family in obedience and wait.

Verse 10 Is the fulfilment of verse 4. God keeps His Word. The believer has to wait in order to obtain eternal life and salvation in Heaven until after death.

Verse 11 The date that the flood began is precisely given: in the 600th year of Noah's life, on the 17th of the 2nd month.
Genesis 8:13-16 The earth was dry in the 601st year of Noah's life, on the 27th of the 2nd month. Conclusion: Noah and his family have lived in the ark for more than 13 months.
All the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. The earth returns to the state of Genesis 1:6 where the earth was covered by water and in verse 1:7 the waters were separated.

Verses 12-15 are obvious.

Verse 16 It is God Himself who closes the door of the ark. Access to the ark is closed, no other animal, neither birds nor humans can enter the ark anymore. Compare this with Matthew 25:11-12. The bridegroom Jesus has closed the door and the foolish virgins CANNOT enter. They receive the lesson: "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour".
Today one can mock God's commandments and laws. Deny the existence of God and dismiss it as foolish. When the door is closed by God, there is no more access to eternal life in Heaven and man awaits only God's judgment over his/her sinful life. Man has the entire life on earth at his disposal to come to repentance and to accept salvation.

Verses 17-22 The water rises to 15 cubits (about 7 metres) above the highest mountain on earth. No person can keep standing. Everything dies. Everything is covered, all crops and trees, no more food. So that birds also die because they do not find any more food.

Verse 23 Only those who are in the ark remain alive. After God has closed the door, those who have chosen for Jesus Christ remain only free from God's judgment. Those who are outside receive God's judgment and punishment. The choice is completely free to man. During the construction of the ark, people had the opportunity to come to faith and repentance. During a human life, man has the opportunity to come to repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. The choice is completely free and the full responsibility of man. Almost every person has access to the Bible. The Bible and Bible studies are for free on the internet. Man cannot say but the pastor explained it this way and that way. Every person is responsible for his/her own life. One can ask the Holy Spirit for an explanation, yes, one has to make an effort, but eternal life in Heaven is a rich reward. Therefore live up to God's honour, and leave living worldly.

Verse 24 The waters were over the earth for 150 days. Nothing that can survive, everything dies. The judgment of God is DEFINITIVE. After the 1000-year Kingdom of Christ (Revelation 20: 1-6), the final judgment (Revelation 20: 7-15) is final. Nobody escapes!

Genèse 8 : La fin du déluge

Verse 1 The creation repeats itself, the wind separates the waters and the earth. It is God Who has control over nature. Jesus also had control over the storm and put the storm down. It is God Who rules and determines. Not man, man has no control over the rain, storm and wind. Only through the environmental pollution, the storms and hurricanes increase in severity and frequencies, with all the consequences that man himself is destroyed by these natural disasters.

Verses 2-3 The waters decrease steadily for 150 days. What a difference with the creation, when things happened in only 1 day. Now Noah and his family are tested for patience and faith in God. God is in no hurry. But possibly there is an explanation for it, all carcasses of people and animals had to digest. Noah was not allowed to remember the killed people and animals. God started with man again. A new opportunity for the sinful man.

Verse 4 The ark remained stuck on the mountains of Ararat. It is generally assumed that this mountain lies at the spring of the Tigris. Besides the highest peak of 16850 feet, the mountain also has a lower summit of 12782 feet in the southeast. The ark has never been recovered. The wood may have been digested.

Verse 5 It takes ten months before the tops of the mountains become visible. 150 days (verse 3) 150 divided by 30 is five months. In the 7th month the ark is stuck on Mount Ararat. Now the tops of the other mountains become visible.

Verse 6 After 40 days Noah opens the window in the ark. Why did Noah wait 40 days? No explanation is given. The ark must have rocked back and forth while floating on the water. So in verse 4 these fluctuations must have come to an end and Noah must have known that the water has dropped. Noah could not know it was on a mountain or on lowland. Was it God who spoke to Noah to wait? Jesus was attempted for 40 days in the desert. The Jewish people were punished by a 40 years in the desert. Noah's patience and faith is tested here for 40 days.

Verse 7 Why a raven? A raven smells from afar the smell of cadavers. However, the raven flies back and forth. From the ark and back to the ark. Back to the ark because it did not find cadavers. No one survived the flood, and all the bodies were digested during the 10 months and 40 days.

Verses 8-12 After the raven, Noah releases a pigeon. However, it did not find food. After seven days the pigeon brings a fresh olive leaf. What a difference with creation. During creation, everything was formed within one day. Now everything is recovering and growing slowly. The trees and crops recover after having been covered with water. The sun shines the ground and the new crop and trees are growing. However, it takes another seven days before the pigeon does not return. Now, there is definitely enough food for the pigeon. It does no longer need food from within the ark. The rescue is final. Likewise, the salvation through Jesus Christ is definitive for the one who believes. Food is the Word of God: the Bible. The believer first received the Old Testament (the Jews) and today the believer has the New Testament. It is complete.

Verses 13-14 Noah opens the entrance, which is also the exit of the ark. There is only one way. There is food outside, so all animals in the ark can be released and start their new life on the dry earth. The beginning of new life. God gives a new chance to sinful man.

Verses 15-17 God speaks with Noah. God spoke with Adam and Eve. God spoke with Moses. It is exceptional that God actually speaks to a person. Here it is clearly the command of God. Noah did NOT take the initiative to leave the ark, nor to let go of the animals. Noah waited for the command of God. Likewise, the believer should wait with his/her work for the Lord Jesus Christ until he/she receives the order by God to begin the work.
God gives the order to go out of the ark AND repeat the assignment from 1:28 be fruitful and numerous. The instruction to populate the entire earth. No abortion, but give birth to children. God have the earth produce food again. How disgusting is it presently with man. Exploration of the earth, destruction by greed, deforestation, resulting in insufficient food and oxygen. People die of hunger and kill their child in the mother's womb.

Verse 19 The animals leave the ark and populate the earth. Couple to couple to reproduce and repopulate the earth.

Verse 20 Noah is grateful to God that God spared him and his family. He thanks God through a sacrifice of clean cattle and birds. What a knowledge, he knows what is clean. Cain sacrificed from the fruit of the earth. Despised God's command of bringing the sacrifice of an innocent animal. Noah does not commit the same mistake. He brings a sacrifice of CLEAN cattle and birds. Yes, he knows that these are seven pairs, that this has no adverse effect on reproduction.
How is the believer? Is he/she grateful to God and cheerfully in giving the tenth to God. God loves the cheerful giver. The giving of tithing is not an obligation. It has to be done from a voluntary gift. Noah was not commissioned to sacrifice, it was his own initiative and showing his gratitude.

Verse 21 God smelled the pleasing odour of the sacrifices. God is not far away. He is present on earth. Today man may think, God is not present. God does not see my sins, we can freely violate God's commandments and go our own way. But here it is clear, that God is present ON EARTH.
But also pay attention to the foreknowledge of God: He knows that man is evil. The heart of man is evil from his youth. God promises Himself that He will not again destroy the earth by means of a flood (see 9: 11-17). Soon the wickedness of man is revealed by the construction of the tower of Babel in Genesis 11. The tower of Babel is according to Flavius Josephus, conceived by King Nimrod, great-grandchild of Noah. Unfortunately, only three generations after the flood. Man had NOT learned his lesson.

Narrow Road to HeavenBridge to GodVerse 22 God makes another promise: The seasons will continue to exist, so that the earth will give its harvest. To the present day, the seasons of summer and winter, cold and heat, day and night consist. Man has the night to rest. Cold and heat, summer and winter provide food. We may be very grateful to God for His patience with the very sinful and evil man. As a believer, let us separate ourselves from the world and not walk behind satan and the worldly pleasures (are we really taking pleasure in drugs and free sex?). Let us pray that man comes to repentance. Come to believe in the only way to God, through faith in Jesus Christ as the only Saviour and way to God and eternal life in Heaven. See picture Bridge to God.

Genèse 9 : L'alliance de Dieu

Verse 1 Humanity is completely destroyed with the exception of Noah and his family. Only eight people have remained. In Genesis 2, Adam and Eve were instructed in verse 28 to become fertile and numerous. Here God repeats the commission to Noah and his family: Be fruitful and numerous with the extension fill the earth. God blesses Noah and his family, but we can say that God blesses man. God was furious over the sin of man, now God blesses the man who gave Him all honour and lived according to His commandments. God blesses the person who lives according to God's laws and will. But the man who rejects God awaits his/her punishment.

Verse 2 But there is a warning: There will be fear and dread for the beast and birds. This means that man will have fear for the wild animals and birds, such as tigers, lions, bears, crocodiles, vultures, eagles, snakes, sharks, etc. In principle, God has closed the mouth of these wild animals so that they will not attack men. But from time to time man is warned and they attack a person. God can use these animals to punish and kill a person (Daniel 6:25). Man will not think lightly of God.

Verses 3-4 There is a difference of opinion about this verse, but the explanation is of no importance. Some explain this verse that before the Fall, man was not allowed to eat meat. Others do not give this interpretation. Clear from this verse is that man was given the permission of God to kill clean animals and eat their flesh, but WITHOUT THEIR BLOOD. Not for nothing God sent of all the clean animals 7 pairs of each to survive in the ark. They were intended for sacrifice to the Lord God and as future food for man.
One is not allowed to drink the blood of the killed animal. Which later the idol servants did. The explanation is simple: the soul is in the blood. But also blood cleanses from sin. The blood of the sacrifices is later sprinkled on the altar of the tabernacle and of the temple. The shed blood of Jesus at the cross cleanses the believer from sin. A human being is unable to redeem himself, the blood of an animal or human being cannot free man from the punishment of sin by God. When sacrificing or drinking animal blood and even yes human blood (which happens in the satan's church), one tries to please the idol or satan. God has not for nothing forbidden this.

Verses 5-6 God gives a very severe warning, whoever violates this commandment He will claim his or her life. The man who kills another will receive God's punishment. The man who drinks blood sells himself to demons and satan. Here on earth already receive a demonic life and after death an eternal life in the Lake of Fire.
A man shall not kill another person, because man is created in the image of God. Whoever kills a person, kills a creature of God. This also applies to abortion. Human life begins with the fertilization of the egg cell by the sperm cell. From that moment on, cell division occurs and therefore life takes place! The person who committed abortion is demonically infected, as witnessed by the many stories. A confession and liberation is necessary. In that case, God's faithfulness is great and forgiveness can take place.

Verse 7 The assignment in verse 1 is repeated, bring forth abundantly on the earth and multiply in it. See how powerful the seed is from Noah's sons. In a very short time sons and daughters are born, see Genesis 10 and 11.

Verses 8-11 God makes a covenant with man AND animals and birds. It is not just a covenant with man, it includes all living beings on earth. God will no longer destroy man and living beings through a flood. But that does not mean that man is free of God's judgment and can live as he or she likes. How evil man is, is also evident from the act of Noah's son Ham in verse 22, the construction of the tower of Babel, and the present time of God's contempt speaks for itself. Today, the terrible sins of the time before the Flood repeat itself. Man calls God's judgment over him again. As in the pre-flood period, man does not think of God and that God will punish. God's anger will become visible when the plagues in the soon coming Great Tribulation (Revelation 6, 8-10) are poured out over mankind. Then comes God's final judgment on man.

Verses 13-17 Whether the rainbow existed before the flood is irrelevant. It is and remains God's creation. The whole universe is God's creation. The earth is at the right distance from the sun, a small deviation indicates that the earth is too hot or too cold for human to live on earth. The moon is at the right distance and gives low and high tidings. Human life is not possible on any other planet. Only on earth grow trees and plants, there are oceans and seas with fish. So the rainbow is a sign of God's covenant. It is a creation of God of nature.
Yes, most people see only a rainbow. However, the believer is reminded of God's Covenant that He will not again destroy the earth by means of a flood. The rainfall may be violent, will cause partial devastation, but not the entire earth. It is to remember God. The rainbow is not only for man, it is a reminder for God. What a goodness! We may be grateful to God, every time we see the rainbow: Thank God for His patience with the sinful man.

Verses 18-19 From the sons of Noah, the entire population of the earth is born. Apparently Noah (who lived 350 years after the flood, verse 28) and his wife did not have children anymore.

Verses 20-21 Whether Noah became a tiller after the flood or already was before the flood, is irrelevant. It is important that he planted a vineyard. The fruit of the vineyard is the grape. And grape juice does not make you drunk. We drink grape juice with the holy supper. The basic text in the New Testament gives no indication whether it was the grape juice or wine which Jesus used at the Holy Supper. Grape juice yeasted quickly and it was not the time of the vineyard harvest. So the grape juice had already been fermented. Alcohol is used as a preservative. What is certain is that Noah had drunk wine to an abundant degree. A man of God who walked righteously and now lost his mind and did not know what he was doing anymore. He bared himself in his tent. The question is where was his wife? Had this drunkenness taken place before and did his wife separate of him? His wife was not present in verse 23, when Ham entered the tent.

Verse 22 Why did the son Ham enter into the tent of his father? He had nothing to look for there, he knew that his father was drunk. Likewise with the believer, do not go to places where you have nothing to look for, keep yourself pure and do not let yourself be caught up in the sin of the world. Live a holy life!
Ham had no respect for his father, because he look at the nakedness of his father and DID NOT COVERED the nakedness. No, on the contrary, he went around trumpeting and told his two brothers.
How is the believer, shouting around the sin of a fellow believer, or does he seek and speak with the sinner privately and not in public? Whoever is without sin cast the first stone. Yes, the task is to us, is to appeal. If the sinner does not wish to listen, then the elders may be called, see what Jesus says in Mat. 18:15-17.

Verse 23 These two brothers, full of shame about their father and brother, walk backwards into the tent so that they do not see their naked father.
And cover their father with a garment. Let this be an important lesson for believing parents. Children should NOT see the nakedness of their parents (genitals, breasts of the mother). When bathing or showering with children, parents should use bath suits!

Verse 24 Noah slept through his intoxication and discovered that there is a garment over him. Where does this garment come from? He informs with his sons and discovers what his son Cham has done. The Bible says not for nothing that the believer should refrain from drunkenness. It is best not to use alcoholic beverages. In order not to give your brother or sister no temptation or offense in faith. In drunkenness one can become violent and one loses the mind and one does no longer know what one does. That is certainly not a Christian testimony.

Verse 25 Noah cursed his son Ham and his descendants, the Canaanites. A very heavy punishment. The Canaanites will be servants among their two brothers. One cannot think lightly about severe sin. This punishment is not limited to the personal sin committed by Ham, the punishment extends to his family and offspring!

Verses 26-27 Noah blesses his two sons Shem and Japheth. Shem shall reign over the cursed son Ham. God enlarges Japheth and will also rule over Ham. God blesses the believer, who keeps God's commandments.

Verses 28-29 Noah has seen that God keeps His word and that his sons become fertile and numerous. He lived 350 years after the flood to see many generations after him. What a blessing for a righteous man. Probably his lesson is taught to never become drunk anymore.
